Do you have any advice for new RPers?

rainbowsandsilverlinings answered:

@sirussly has a wonderful rp advice tag here and @asklilyluna made a lovely masterpost of advice here.

A few tips from me personally that I haven’t seen much other places:

1. People have been saying this more recently but it stands to be said again: Everyone sends themselves asks! Especially when you are new and you want to be making content, it makes all the sense in the world to send yourself a couple anonymous asks. The more content you make that people like, the more content people will want from you, the more non-you asks you will get (in theory.)

2. On a similar note, making content is a good way to (*shocker*) do better at this. Every time you come online you #1, improve your rp abilities and #2 put more content out that people might see. I’m always surprised by this myself after being on hiatus for a while…  but you gain followers when you make content. Wow.

3. Don’t expect anything. This may come across as harsh, but there is nothing more frustrating to see on here than saying something like “I should have known I wouldn’t get asks” or “Guess yall don’t like this?” when you don’t get the expected number of notes or whatever (and nothing makes me want to send you asks or like your post less). Self promotion is fine, but being mad at and guilting your followers when they don’t like your stuff isn’t really acceptable.

4. You don’t have to answer every ask. You can, but you have no requirement to. Your blog is what you make it, and the amount of negative or positive vibes you put on your blog is your prerogative.

5. Love it. Find a character you love portraying, portray them how you want, and enjoy doing that. Rinse, repeat.

i keep seeing your photography work and i was wondering if you do it as a full time job? also if you do, how you managed to make it a full time job?

i’m a freelancer so i don’t know if that’s considered full time? since there are days when i have shoots and some days when i don’t - to answer your second question, i studied photography and then i approached clients and built up my commercial portfolio from scratch - there is a lot more about it all in this photo q&a of mine ✨

feel free to leave more comments under the video since this is where i can answer them quicker :)

can you please tell us more about that advent calender arin made for you??💕

we couldn’t spend christmas and new year together this time so we each made an advent calendar for each other - mine was different sweets, arin’s was sweets and other cute knickknacks like notes, stationary and skin care like sheet masks :) it was a box with numbered envelopes containing treats that made me a happy boi all throughout december :)
